Norton King’s Daughters’ Health provides new moms and families with educational opportunities throughout the year. To learn more, call (812) 801-0990. Options include Prepared Childbirth Essentials (series and weekend options) and Breast Pumping 101. Registration is required for all classes.

Prepared Childbirth Essentials

Prepared Childbirth Essentials is a four-week class series which covers labor and delivery care, newborn care, Cesarean birth, pain management and breastfeeding. The program is $50 for moms who deliver at Norton King’s Daughters’ Health in Madison. There is a $100 fee for couples who choose to deliver at another hospital. Class times are 6 to 8 p.m. in the Norton KDH Conference Center – located on the basement level of the hospital.

We also offer a Weekend Prepared Childbirth Essentials option, which is a one-day program scheduled on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dates are noted below. Cost for the one-day program is also $50 for moms who deliver at Norton KDH and a $100 for couples who choose to deliver at another hospital.

Breast Pumping 101

This one-time class offers information about breastfeeding in the early weeks post delivery. A registered nurse covers various topics, including: pumping, returning to work and overcoming challenges. Classes meet on Tuesdays each month from 12:00 to 1 p.m. on the Mother-Baby Unit (2nd Floor, hospital) at Norton King’s Daughters’ Health. Please note: There will be no class scheduled in October.
